Laura Setzer has been practising immigration and refugee law exclusively since 1993. Since establishing Setzer Immigration Law in 2005, she has represented clients across a broad range of immigration related issues.
Laura obtained her LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1991 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1993. Shortly thereafter, Laura moved to London, England and was qualified as a U.K. solicitor. After 5 years of gaining valuable experience practising immigration and refugee law in England, Laura returned to Canada.
In addition to her extensive legal experience, Laura has a background working in women’s shelters. She brings this experience to her work with women who are facing difficult immigration and refugee issues. She is also committed to assisting other vulnerable groups such as people with mental health problems.
With a deep understanding of the field and a fierce commitment to defending her clients’ best interests, Laura offers a personalized, professional, compassionate approach to each case that she handles.
